Rhinestone Cowboy (Official Video) - Glen Campbell

Timeless

As I look above at the vast blue Sky
Listen to the repeated rippling waves on the beach side
Gasp at the Mountains that stand majestically tall with pride
Eavesdrop on the chirpy rivers cascading towards the gigantic open Sea.

I perceive fluidity and poise interwoven into a chain
As she moves ever so gracefully through her being
“Seamlessness”, is the magic she creates, no end or beginning
A timeless, ageless image she radiates, a surreal feeling.

Walking through the muddy track
Amidst the trees that have stood there for God alone knows how long!
Instantly I feel this strong connection in her presence
A deep realization that I too am a part of this whole experience.

She is of course the epitome of the Art of being.
She seems so much into what she is doing
I too want to go from doing to being
Emulate her as I am her huge fan following!

Sleepwalk through my life.

Hearing the alarm go off
I struggle to drag myself out of bed
Sigh, I need to do routine stuff
I will let myself sleepwalk through my life.

I have forgotten what it is to be surprised
Lost it somewhere when I started doing things too fast
My head rattling with noises of this and that
Feeling so muddled with cobwebs and dust.

I see you nodding when i say we are more creative when we do things from scratch.
Much much more alive when we breathe, in awe, of nature and her ways…
No dearth of surprises, do things as if it were the first time…
Remain forever young and new as we let our curiosity lead us through our daily life…

Well I might want to change my ways
Of doing everything in a routine and mundane way
And tonight as I lay my head on my pillow case
I know fully well tomorrow is not going to be like yesterday!

Wedding prep tamasha

Now for more mundane updates -- after all the spiritual thought provoking posts !!

The epicentre of all wedding related activities - GF Akshaya apts (Chennai) - is all agog with the upcoming wedding in the family !

Shopping
The past couple of months has witnessed frenzied activity levels by the members of the WOC (Wedding Organizing Committee) - trips to Kanjeevaram, Coimbatore, for the saris, Bangalore for gift items etc. Gifts of various types, shapes, sizes, colors from all corners of India - being transported by family courier members ! The logistics effort is of course being spear-headed by the Family Logistics Head, who has now shifted base to Akshaya GF to improve operational efficiencies.
And now for a peep into the various activities in more detail .....

Story of the 3 saris
The Bombay chapter of the (WOC) Wedding Organizing Committee had been asked to purchase salwar sets for the granddaughters of the family for Sumangali prarthanai, and the task had been duly completed.

Now simultaneously, the Chennai WOC had already purchased saris for the daughters in law and granddaughters - while the Chennai girls and ladies had already selected their saris, Vijju was yet to select hers - the WOC plan was to send three saris to Bombay, from which she could choose one.

So the 3 saris were taken from Chennai to Bangalore last week by the Chennai Bangalore bi-monthly shuttle so that it could be sent by courier from there - but unfortunately that plan was foiled, since there was an attempted theft of the saris before it reached the courier . Hence the saris came back to Bangalore in the next shuttle service.

On failure of Plan A, Plan B was attmpted - to show the saris on skype - unfortunately the timings did not coincide and Skype meeting never happened- so Plan C was successfully initiated - digicam shots (from nothing short of a Canon SLR) of all the 3 saris were promptly taken - from all possible angles, so as to reflect the richness and grandeur of the saris in the most natural manner. The photos were then sent by mail - and finally the choice was made.

This then initiated the next course of action - the blouse for this "chosen sari" had to be flown to bombay early enough so that the blouse could be stitched before the wedding ! And since Diwali was just round the corner then, and the tailors being very busy, there was a lot of concern that the blouses may not be stitched in time. So this was a major challenge facing the WOC ! There were also the already-selected saris (for the 2 girls) and their blouse pieces that had to reach bombay in time.

Optimization
A couple of days later, we heard that Shyam was planning a one-day trip to Bombay - now this is optimization at its best - The moment the Logistics Head got wind of this plan, phone calls were flying from Luz-Bombay-Thiruvanmiyur to establish the quickest and most optmized method of goods exchange - Shyam was to carry the blouse pieces and the already selected saris (for the bombay girls) to Bombay , and had to receive the salwar sets for Chennai girls in return (the ones already purchased by the Bombay Chapter - remember?) . So the exchange of suitcases happened in the airport - much like a bollywood climax scene in the middle of a desert ! In less than 12 hours the goods exchange had been completed - now the bombay girls and Chennai girls were very happy to receive their respective sets -well in time to get the their sets tailored !! thanks to the logistics efficiencies that enabled this to happen !

Will keep you posted of the various other activities as we countdown to the wedding !
