Hi
I went for a talk on mind mapping. Was an interesting concept, developed by a guy called Tony Buzon.
It has been established that when we repeat a particular task or action just 8 times we have created a pathway. All of us use these pathways repeatedly eg. Taking the same route to work, waking up having a routine etc. Can you guess how many pathways we are using all in all-barely 2%. The balance 98% remain unused!
How can we create new pathways- one of them is of course learning a new language, learning new methods of doing things etc, new environment etc
We all make to do lists, mostly in linear mode....1,2....etc. This method leads to monotony and if not achieved leads to disappointment. But if we were to imitate our brain and put down our ideas and thoughts in the method shown below, we will be thinking in sync with the way our brain is working, we can be creative too, we get a better perspective of if we are overdoing something and not paying enough attention to something else.
So put down your core topic in the centre. Draw thick axons- representing main branches, similar to the branches- go on to sub branches. Ensure your main branches carry the important ideas, called "Basic Ordering Ideas". They are the core ideas.
Try this to work on your weekly schedule. Main branches can be work, family, health, hobby etc. what you want to achieve, how and when. I found the workshop creative, involving and in tune with myself.
I am attaching a template - this is for your long term goals....
Try it out and let me know
Rama.
Rules of drawing a mind map.
1. Use different colors for eat Axon. Sub branches remain in the same color.
2. First starts of thick and becomes thinner as it moves out word.
3. Only one word for each branch.
4. Keep the sub branches as a close cluster.
5. Remember each mind mapping will be different, every time you do it as we as a individual is changing constantly.....
